As most of our members would know, Mike Peverley (outgoing President) and his partner Leonie Cameron (outgoing Registrar) have stood down from their roles within the Club to enjoy some much-deserved retirement time.
Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Mike and Leonie both personally and on behalf of the Committee and wider Club community for their tireless efforts over the past 24 years. They leave their respective positions knowing all their hard work has positioned the Club well both financially and in terms of membership numbers. I’m sure you will be seeing them at the Club for senior home games in 2022.
As for myself, it gives me great pleasure to have accepted the role as your new Club President. I have been associated with the Club since 2001 and in that time have played for both the senior men’s and masters teams, taken up several coaching roles including juniors, women’s, masters and senior men’s teams.
In addition to this, I have previously been a member of the Committee and occupied the position of Vice President. I have been the major sponsor of the Club through one of my businesses and in 2018 was awarded a Life Membership with the Club. I believe my strong association with the Club and the many positions I have held over the years put me in a good position to steer the ship through 2022 and
into the future.
I am also excited to announce the Club has one of the largest Committees I have seen since my association with it began. In total, we have 15 members on the 2022 Committee all of whom are filled with ideas of how we can continue to move the Club forward.
The last two seasons have certainly been challenging for the Club managing the COVID-19 situation. 2022 will be no exception and I expect we will all have to face some challenges over the coming months. The Club is working hard to ensure we provide updates to our members in a timely fashion with regard to current government requirements for mask wearing, social distancing and mask mandates.
In this connection, please ensure when entering the clubhouse, you are wearing a mask at all times and please follow the directions of bar staff and Committee members.
Remember to like us on Facebook for regular updates and information about upcoming activities, events and games, and be sure to check out our New Website which has recently gone live.
Best Regards

Our Junior Registration & Info Day is being held this coming Sunday 6th February from 10:00am to 2:00pm. If you have yet to register your child or want to find out a bit more about the new season, please come down and speak to one of our helpful Committee members who will be on-hand to help out and answer any questions you may have.
Those that have already registered their child online via the Play Football registration system can also collect their child’s tote bag which this year contains a pair of club shorts (Nike brand with Club logo), a Club training shirt (blue top with Club logo), and some other goodies. Club socks which are required for all players can also be purchased on the day if you require some for your child ($10 a pair).
Details on how to use the Play Football registration system can be found on our website at https://ballajuraafc.com/club-notices/ and please note also that KidSport vouchers are available for eligible holders of a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.
We hope to see you on Sunday at the clubhouse – and would also remind parents and caregivers that if anyone is interested in coaching or helping out with their child’s team that we’d love to have a chat and let you know how we would support you over the course of the season (including waiving the fees for your child if you take on the role of coach!).
As alluded to above, after long last the Club is very pleased to advise that we have a fresh new website to better reflect the community nature and diverse make-up of our Club. Please take a look when you get a moment – www.ballajuraafc.com – with the simpler menu and drop-down options making it much easier to find information about the Club and what is going on in terms of latest news and events.
A big thank you goes out to Computing Australia Group who not only assisted the Club with the development and finalising of our new website, but who have also very generously come on-board as our newest Club sponsor. As well as assisting with ongoing updates, maintenance and hosting of our website, Computing Australia Group will also be assisting the Club over the next couple of years with our promotional and communication endeavours as we seek to continue to build the Club and attract more members.
We very much look forward to working with Daniel Hutchinson (CEO), Chris Karapetcoff (Business Manager) and their team and building a strong relationship whereby both the Club and their company can benefit from this new association. And it goes without saying, if anyone is seeking assistance with a new website or enhancing their web presence to better promote their business or organisation, we would be more than happy to make an introduction to Computing Australia Group who are very well placed to assist with any business needs in this space.
